Triple J Sun Protection.com Company was launched in 1997 after
I (Jerre Jo) received my first yard of sun protective fabric, Solar
weave ®. this was shortly before a very close friend of mine was
diagnosed with melanoma and soon after passed away. I became interested
in sun block fabrics.
While playing golf with women in San Diego listening to them talk
about the damage the harsh sun rays was doing to their skin, I designed and manufacturer a pair of sun sleeves, which are still
available today. At that time, sun protective clothing was not heard of
much in the USA like it was in Australia. In 1997 there were only about five to
eight companies manufacturing this UV protective clothing.I felt my purpose
was if I could help just one person become aware of the dangers of
unprotected exposure to the sun by providing sun block clothing I would be fulfilling a personal
dream. Our purpose (Triple J Sun Protection) is to give our customers Sun Protective Clothing, that
will protect them year round
as this is not just a summer issue. We need some sun as it is a good
Vitamin D source being in the sun for 20 minutes a day is healthy for
bodies.
I manufactured working from home, designing, cutting and sewing
at all hours. In addition to my
sun sleeves were men and women polo shirts and
jog/leisure suits for men and women.
Also created a two-piece yoga
Capri/jacket
outfit and the popular
lettuce edge shirt which have been featured in
publications including Yoga Journal and Shape.com. Both the lettuce edge
shirt and the sun sleeves have been tested and certified by
International UV Lab Testing in Alabama to provide UPF 30+ or more sun
protection.
In addition to our own line of products, Triple J Sun Protection
also sells sun protective clothing, UV
Hats, swimwear, rash guards and accessories for men, women and
children from a variety of well-known manufacturers including San Diego
